Hi, I’m Mary — a 21-year-old chef and recent Culinary Science grad from Auburn University. Cooking has always been my way of connecting with people, and during my four years at Auburn, I dove deep into the science behind great food while learning how to bring creativity and technique together on the plate.
Now, fresh out of college and brimming with energy, I'm ready to share my skills, ideas, and passion with the world—one plate at a time. Whether in the kitchen or online, I'm on a mission to connect with others through food, inspire young cooks, and make culinary education both approachable and exciting.
I started this blog with one simple goal: to create a space where food feels less intimidating and more human. The internet is full of beautifully plated dishes and complicated recipes, but sometimes it’s hard to find real, honest conversations about food — the kind that make you feel like you're learning with someone, not being talked down to.
As someone who just wrapped up four years of studying Culinary Science, I realized how often food knowledge is locked behind technical terms or feels out of reach for everyday cooks. I wanted to change that. This blog is where I break things down, skip the fluff, and share the why behind what we do in the kitchen — in a way that’s approachable, digestible (pun intended), and hopefully even fun.
Whether it’s learning how to balance a sauce, understanding why your cookies spread too much, or just making a weeknight dinner that actually excites you, I want this space to feel like a conversation. I’m not here to be perfect or preachy. I’m here to share what I know, what I’m still figuring out, and to help you feel more confident cooking food you actually love.
